Scottish Primary Care Research Champion

CSO are pleased to announce that Professor Bruce Guthrie has been appointed, after a process of competitive recruitment, to the post of Scottish Primary Care Research Champion.
Professor Guthrie is Professor of Primary Care Medicine at the University of Dundee. He is a working GP, practicing in Cardenden in Fife, and has previously held research positions at the Universities of Dundee, Edinburgh, and California San Francisco. He has extensive experience in conducting research, with particular interest in prescribing and healthcare delivery. He sits on several NHS advisory bodies including the NICE Quality and Outcomes Framework Indicators Advisory Committee.
The Scottish Primary Care Research Champion is a new role, which takes on the responsibilities previously held by the Clinical Lead of the Scottish Primary Care Research Network.
